Public Interest Partners is a social purpose collaborative formed by the Local News Network to help achieve the interrelated goals and objectives of philanthropy-infrastructure organizations and the nonprofit sector for the edification and benefit of the individuals and communities they serve.
We strive to empower the nonprofit sector to assume a leadership position in the advancement of human-centered public interest technology and the creation of a dedicated social services industry. Diversely-skilled workforces can include the intended beneficiaries of the public and private sector education and workforce systems.
Public Interest Partners is designed to form the connective media tissue of a more holistic approach to fiscal sponsorship and the philanthropy ecosystem, an interconnected network of individuals, organizations and systems that support and facilitate philanthropic giving and social impact.
" Power to the Public: The Promise of Public Interest Technology" ,written by Tara Dawson McGuinness and Hana Schank, defines public interest technology as the study and application of technology expertise to advance the public interest, generate public benefits and promote the public good. Chapter 7 conveys the importance of storytelling and investing in people to the advancement of public interest technology and the achievement of diverse and sustainable societal impact.
